Alabama sex offender registry ALABAMA : Alabama Department of Public Safety and Alabama Bureau of Investigations provides registration information for criminal sex offenders per the Community Notification Act – Act 99-572 (HB 425).

alaska sex offender registry ALASKA: The Alaska Department of Public Safety updates this information regularly, to try to assure that it is complete and accurate, however this information can change quickly. Persons who have been arrested or charged with a sex offense are not required to register unless the arrest or charge results in a conviction. This list contains offenders who have registered and those who are required to register.

Arizona sex offender registry ARIZONA: The Arizona site does not contain information on all convicted sex offenders! Information is only provided for sex offenders with risk assessment scores of Level 2 (Intermediate) or Level 3 (High).

 arkansas sex offender registryARKANSAS: Arkansas registry site is made available for the purpose of providing the public information concerning Level 3 and Level 4 Registered Sex Offenders who may reside in your area.

california sex offender registry CALIFORNIA: Only information on registered sex offenders are allowed to be disclosed under California law that appears on the registry web site. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure, so they are not included on the site.

 colorado sex offender registryCOLORADO: The Colorado online registry provides information on certain high-risk registered sex offenders in the following categories: sexually violent predator (SVP), multiple offenses, and failed to register.

 connecticut sex offender registryCONNECTICUT: Connecticut General Statutes 54-250 through 54-261 mandate that the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection establish and maintain a central registry of persons who have been convicted of certain sexual offenses and are required to register under the general statutes. Persons who have been arrested or accused of a sex offense listed in Connecticut General Statutes 54-250 through 54-261 are not required to register unless the accusation results in a conviction or a finding of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. This Registry contains only offenders who have been convicted or found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

 delaware sex offender registryDELAWARE: Only offenders convicted after June 27, 1994 for sex offenses specified under Delaware Law are required to register. Persons who have been arrested but not convicted are not required to register. Delaware also provides a search for offenders registered in another state.

 georgia sex offender registryGEORGIA: Access to sex offender information in Georgia is provided to the public as the result of the Jacob Wetterling Registration Act, which was passed by the United States Congress and Megan’s Law. A person who has been convictred of committing certain criminal offenses under OCGA 42-1-12 must register with the Sheriff of county they live in or move to within 10 days of moving to that county.

 hawaii sex offender registryHAWAII: Chapter 846E, Hawaii Revised Statutes, mandates that the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center maintain a central repository of covered offenders in the State of Hawaii. Hawaii registry information is updated regularly in order to assure that it is complete and accurate.

idaho sex offender registry IDAHO: Sex offender registration in Idaho began on July 1, 1993. It also established a statutory duty for persons convicted of certain felony sex crimes to register with their local sheriff. In 1998, the Legislature repealed the original act and enacted the “Sexual Offenders Registration Notification and Community Right-to-Know Act” to strengthen program administration and to expand public access to central registry information. Also in 1998, they enacted the “Juvenile Sexual Offender Registration Notification and Community Right-to-Know Act.” Under the previous law, only juveniles convicted as adults were subject to sex offender registration.

illinois sex offender registry ILLINOIS: Illinois Compiled Statutes (730 ILCS 152/115 (a) and (b)) mandate that the Illinois State Police (“ISP”) establish and maintain a statewide Sex Offender Database, accessible on the Internet, identifying persons who have been convicted of certain sex offenses and/or crimes against children and must register as a Sex Offender.

 indiana sex offender registryINDIANA: The Indiana Sheriffs’ Sex Offender Registry will include maps that allow users to pinpoint where offenders live, work and go to school. The site will be updated daily, and starting later this year, Hoosiers can sign up for e-mail updates notifying them when offenders move into their neighborhoods.

 iowa sex offender registryIOWA: The Iowa sex offender registry is updated daily. Records include offenses on or after July 1, 1995, an individual who has been convicted or adjudicated of a criminal offense against a minor, sexual exploitation, or a sexually violent crime or who was on probation, parole, or work release status, or who was incarcerated on or after July 1, 1995 is required to register.

kansas sex offender registryKANSAS: The Kansas Bureau of Investigation facilitate public access to information about persons who have been convicted of certain sex, violent and drug offenses, as set forth in the Kansas Offender Registration Act (K.S.A. 22-4901 et seq.). Effective July 1, 2005, K.S.A. 22-4909 was amended to require the website to prominently identify whether an offender is or is not a sex offender.

kentucky sex offender registry KENTUCKY: The information contained in the Kentucky sex/criminal offender registration database is primarily provided by the offender when they register with the Department of Corrections or the Division of Probation and Parole. This information is then forwarded to the Kentucky State Police for inclusion in the database.

louisiana sex offender registry LOUISIANA: . This site contains registration information on convicted Sex Offenders or Child Predators in the state of Louisiana.

maine sex offender registry MAINE: The Maine sex offender registry does not contain information on all individuals that have been convicted of a sex crime. Information is only provided for those individuals that are required to register pursuant to Title 34-A MRSA, Chapter 15.

 maryland sex offender registryMARYLAND: Anyone required to register under Maryland law as of September 30, 2010 is subject to continued registration under Maryland’s new law. Anyone who is currently under the custody or supervision of a supervising authority on October 1, 2010 and has an unregistered sex offense conviction is subject to registration under Maryland’s new law. Anyone who is convicted of a new crime on or after October 1, 2010 and has an unregistered sex offense conviction is subject to registration under Maryland’s new law.

massachusetts sex offender regisry MASSACHUSETTS: The Sex Offender Registry Board is the state agency responsible for keeping a database of convicted sex offenders and classifying each offender so that the public may receive information about dangerous sex offenders who live or work in each community. The goal of the Sex Offender Registry is to educate the public and to prevent further victimization.

 michigan sex offender registry   MICHIGAN: The Michigan State Police (MSP) Public Sex Offender Registry (PSOR). The Sex Offenders Registration Act, MCL 28.721et seq., directs the MSP to develop and maintain a PSOR. Information available on the PSOR includes an offender’s name, address, offense information, and a photograph.

 minnesota sex offender registryMINNESOTA: Information regarding Level III Predatory Offenders is posted on the Minnesota site according to Minnesota Statutes 244.052. Law enforcement agencies decide, on a case-by-case basis what information is to be posted.

 montana sex offender registryMONTANA: The Montana registry provides an up-to-date listing of sexual and violent offenders who are required to register their whereabouts. You can search this information for free by name, by city or county, or by offender type.

nebraska sex offender registry NEBRASKA: The Nebraska registry information is being provided from a list of Nebraska State Patrol Press Releases that have been made concerning High Risk/Level 3 Sex Offenders. The Sex Offender notification is updated nightly.

nevada  sex offender registry NEVADA: Under the provisions of NRS 179B.250, the public is authorized to gain access to certain sex offender information. This information has previously only been available through a phone query to the Sex Offender Registry unit in the State Criminal History Repository.

new hampshire sex offender registry NEW HAMPSHIRE: New Hampsire provides a search tool that allows users to search by partial first name, partial last name, partial address, partial city and partial zip code. A list of warrants can also be found online for non-compliant offenders.

new jersey sex offender registry NEW JERSEY: New Jersey law authorizes the Division of State Police to make available to the public over the Internet information about certain sex offenders required to register under Megan’s Law. The sex offender Internet registry law can be found in the New Jersey Code at 2C:7-12 to -19.

new mexico sex offender registry NEW MEXICO: Pursuant to the New Mexico Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, the release of sex offender registration information is limited to those individuals convicted of certain sex offenses on or after July 1,1995, or those individuals convicted of a sex offense prior to that date and were incarcerated or on probation/parole as of that date.

new york sex offender registry NEW YORK: Registered sex offenders in New York are classified by the risk of reoffense. A court determines whether an offender is a level 1 (low risk), 2 (moderate risk) or 3 (high risk). The court also determines whether an offender should be given the designation of a sexual predator, sexually violent offender or predicate sex offender.

north carolina sex offender registry NORTH CAROLINA: The North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry was established in January 1996 due to the General Assembly’s enactment of Article 27A of Chapter 14 of the North Carolina General Statutes (NCGS 14-208.5).

north dakota sex offender registry NORTH DAKOTA: The North Dakota online registry listings include offenders who are identified as lifetime registrants as defined by law, or have been designated as high-risk offenders by the Attorney General’s Risk Level Committee.

ohio sex offender registry OHIO: The Ohio sex offender registry database is linked to all 88 of Ohio’s sheriff’s offices and all 32 correctional facility records offices operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

 oklahoma sex offender registryOKALAHOMA: The Oklahoma Sex Offender Registry, maintained by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, provides public information on sex offenders required to register pursuant to the Sex Offenders Registration Act, 57 O.S. 581-590.

 oregon sex offender registryOREGON: Oregon provides information only for sex offenders who have been designated as Predatory, as provided in ORS 181.585, who have also been determined to present the highest risk of reoffending and to require the widest range of notification; or found to be a sexually violent dangerous offender under ORS 144.635.

pennsylvania sex offender registry PENNSYLVANIA: The Pennsylvania State Police does not provide information on sexually violent predators who are still in prison, unless the sexually violent predator was previously registered with the Pennsylvania State Police and subsequently reincarcerated after registration.

south dakota sex offender registry SOUTH DAKOTA: The Division of Criminal Investigation is mandated by state and federal laws to establish and maintain a registry of convicted sexual offenders living in South Dakota (SDCL 22-22-31 through 22-22-41). The purpose of the sex offender registry is to track the location of a class of offenders that, by nature of their crimes, pose an ongoing risk to public safety.

tennessee sex offender registry TENNESSEE: The Tennessee Sexual Offender and Violent Sexual Offender Registration, Verification, and Tracking Act of 2004 was established in T.C.A. 40-39-201 et. seq. and became effective August 1, 2004.

texas sex offender registry TEXAS: The Texas DPS maintains files based on registration information submitted by criminal justice agencies and represents a statewide source of information on sex offenders required by law to register.

utah sex offender registry UTAH: Utah Code Ann. §77-27-21.5, The Sex and Kidnap Offender Registry requires the Utah Department of Corrections to develop, operate and maintain a registry of persons who have been convicted of certain offenses. Those offenses are listed in subsection (1)(g) or (n) of the statute.

vermont sex offender registry VERMONT: The Vermont registry is based on the legislature’s decision to facilitate access to publicly available information about persons convicted of sexual offenses.

 virginia sex offender registryVIRGINIA: The Virginia registry, including the Public Notification Database, is based on the Virginia General Assembly’s decision to facilitate access to publicly-available information about persons convicted of specified violent and sexual offenses.

washington dc sex offender registry WASHINGTON DC: The Sex Offender Registration Act of 1999 established a sex offender registration program for the District of Columbia and authorizes the Metropolitan Police Department to release sex offender information to the public.
